SEO Optimizer

A standalone desktop SEO analysis and optimization tool built with Electron, React, and SQLite. Features comprehensive SEO analysis engine with 13 rules, 17 mini-services for keyword analysis, readability scoring, and content optimization.

Comprehensive Analysis

13 SEO rules across 4 categories (meta, content, technical, readability) with weighted scoring system and letter grade assessment (A-F) for actionable insights.

17 Mini-Services

Keyword services (density, long-tail generation, difficulty estimation, clustering, LSI), readability services (multi-formula scoring, improvement suggestions), and content optimization tools (structure analysis, link recommendations).

Desktop Application

Standalone Electron app with React frontend, SQLite database, secure IPC communication, and dark theme UI. Works offline with local data storage.

What I Built

I built a complete desktop SEO analysis tool that provides comprehensive on-page SEO auditing and optimization recommendations. The application combines multiple analysis engines into a unified interface, making it easy for content creators and SEO professionals to evaluate and improve their web content. Note: This project was an experimental implementation using AI-assisted coding techniques with minimal code review, serving as a learning exercise in rapid prototyping and exploring modern development workflows.

Key Features

  • SEO analysis engine with 13 rules across meta tags, content quality, technical SEO, and readability.
  • Weighted scoring system (0-100%) with letter grade assessment (A-F) and detailed issue reporting.
  • Keyword density analyzer with real-time visualization and density tracking.
  • Long-tail keyword generator for discovering low-competition opportunities.
  • Keyword difficulty estimator and clustering tools for competitive analysis.
  • LSI keyword generator for finding semantically related terms.
  • Readability analysis with multiple formulas (Flesch Reading Ease, etc.) and grade level assessment.
  • Content structure analyzer for headings, paragraphs, lists, and media optimization.
  • Internal link recommender with anchor text analysis.
  • Content length optimizer with type-specific recommendations.
  • Content gap analyzer for topic coverage and depth analysis.
  • Competitive content analyzer to compare against top-ranking pages.
  • Multi-language support (English & Greek) with language-specific readability rules.
  • SQLite database for storing analysis history and reports.
  • Secure Electron architecture with context isolation and secure IPC communication.

Technical Architecture

The application follows a three-process Electron architecture: main process handles database operations and SEO analysis logic, renderer process contains the React UI with component-based architecture, and preload script provides secure IPC bridge. The SEO analyzer module contains all analysis engines, while mini-services are organized into keyword, readability, and content optimization categories. SQLite stores analysis history and reports locally.

Stack at a Glance

Core Framework

Electron, React, TypeScript, SQLite

Frontend

React with SASS modules, dark theme UI, component-based architecture

Backend & Analysis

Node.js, Electron main process, SQLite database, IPC handlers, SEO analyzer engine, HTML parser, keyword services, readability services, content services

Developer Experience

The project includes comprehensive development tooling with webpack for bundling main, preload, and renderer processes separately. TypeScript strict mode ensures type safety, ESLint and Prettier maintain code quality, and Husky pre-commit hooks automate quality checks. The modular architecture allows easy extension of analysis rules and services.

Outcome

SEO Optimizer provides a complete desktop solution for SEO analysis without requiring internet connectivity or external services. The 17 mini-services cover the full spectrum of on-page SEO optimization, from keyword research to content structure analysis. The application has been refactored to use standardized component patterns, reducing boilerplate code by approximately 25-30% while maintaining all functionality.
