About Me

Lefteris Evangelinos

Who I Am

I'm Lefteris Evangelinos, a full-stack developer and software engineer with a passion for building scalable systems and crafting immersive stories. Born in Volos, Greece, with roots in Lavkos and Argalasti in South Pelion, I've always been drawn to both the technical precision of code and the creative freedom of storytelling.

I studied Computer Engineering at the University of West Attica, where I developed a strong foundation in software architecture, database design, and modern web technologies. My professional work focuses on backend development with Node.js and Express, real-time systems with Socket.IO, and creating intuitive user experiences with Vue.js and TypeScript.

Core Philosophy: Whether I'm architecting a backend API or developing a fantasy world, I believe in attention to detail, clear structure, and the power of well-crafted systems to create meaningful experiences.

Technical Journey

Coding workspace

My development work spans multiple domains, from carpooling platforms with multi-language support and real-time chat to multiplayer game applications with comprehensive admin dashboards. I'm particularly interested in:

  • Backend Architecture: Building RESTful APIs, managing complex data flows, and ensuring system reliability through proper error handling and validation.
  • Real-time Systems: Implementing WebSocket communications, managing concurrent users, and creating responsive live experiences.
  • Modern Frontend: Crafting type-safe interfaces with Vue 3 and TypeScript, managing application state, and creating accessible user experiences.
  • DevOps & Automation: Writing deployment scripts, managing environments, and building tools that streamline development workflows.

I approach every project as an opportunity to learn and refine my craft. From authentication flows and session management to notification systems and scheduled jobs, I'm constantly exploring ways to make systems more robust, maintainable, and user-friendly.

Literary Work

Literary work

Beyond the world of code, I'm a published fantasy author with a deep love for epic storytelling. Since childhood, I've been captivated by fantasy literature—works by Robert Jordan and Tolkien shaped my imagination and inspired me to create my own fantastical worlds.

Through my writing, I explore themes that matter in the real world, weaving my concerns, thoughts, and reflections into narratives that blend heroic adventure with philosophical depth. My stories are not just escapism; they're a mirror reflecting the complexities of our world through the lens of fantasy.

Published Works

My main series, "Το πεπρωμένο του Ραθ" (The Fate of Rath), is an epic fantasy trilogy published by Συμπαντικές Διαδρομές (Universe Pathways Editions). The series concluded with the release of the third book at the "Όψεις του Φανταστικού" (Aspects of the Fantastic) festival.

Themes: Fate vs. free will, redemption, the cost of power, philosophical reflection

I maintain an active presence on Goodreads, where I engage with the fantasy community, share reviews, and connect with fellow readers and writers. My current reading challenge for 2025 aims for 30 books, and I'm particularly enjoying Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series.

Bringing It All Together

My dual passions for software development and storytelling inform each other in unexpected ways. The systematic thinking required for coding helps me structure complex narratives, while the creative freedom of writing keeps my problem-solving fresh and innovative.

Whether I'm debugging a WebSocket connection or developing a character arc, I approach each challenge with curiosity, discipline, and a commitment to craft. Both fields demand attention to detail, an understanding of structure, and the ability to create systems—whether they're software architectures or fictional worlds—that feel cohesive and alive.

If you'd like to discuss technology, collaborate on a project, or talk about fantasy literature, I'd love to hear from you. Let's create something remarkable together.
